Terry Pheto is a renowned actor, producer well known in the South African film industry for her leading role in the movie 'Tsotsi' as 'Mariam'. She is also recognized for her role in the movie 'How to Steal 2 Million'.

Pheto was born on May 11, 1981, in a town named Evaton, South Africa. She has the birth sign of Taurus. Her birth name is Moitheri Pheto which she latter kept Pheto.

She even used to pay 10 cents a day to watch T.V at her neighbor's house because she wasn't in the condition to afford one.

She loved the work at that place too and while she was working in a theatre group she was spotted by casting agent Moonyeenn Lee during the casting process for Tsotsi with Presley Chweniyagae.

Pheto the 'Tsotsi' movie actor has contributed a lot to the field of Film Industry. She not only contributed as an actor but also has contributed as a producer.

 She has played in movies like 'Tostsi' as Miriam, 'How to steal 2 Million' as Olive, 'Hopeville' as Fikile, and so on. She has got credits as a producer for movies like 'The Locksmith' and 'Ayanda' and has also produced series like 'E! News Africa Specials' and 'The Close Up'. She started supporting the film industry since she was 21 years.

Achievement in the Film Industry

The 'Tsotsi' movie actor Terry Pheto aka 'Mariam' has been contributing to the film industry for a long period of time, during this period she has achieved many breakthroughs. The movie which she played in 2005 (Tsotsi) won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film which made her the brand-new star of the African Film Industry. 

She also won the Africa Movie Academy Award for best actress in the supporting role of the movie 'How to steal 2 Million'.

She has also won many other awards like Luminance Star Award in 2017, She also won the Best Supporting Actress at the UK National Film Awards In The United Kingdom in the same year. Recently she also won the Best Actress Award At British Urban Film Festival Awards 2019 for Faces.

New Face of L'Oreal 

In July of the year, 2008 Pheto was named as the new face of L'Oreal. Not only that she was also featured in various magazines like Destiny, Bona, True Love, and so on. She is also the ambassador of the Swiss Watch brand Longines.

Break up with DJ Sbu

In 2010 Pheto broke up with her boyfriend DJ Sbu. During the period of the relationship between Terry and DJ, Terry's L'Oreal ambassadorship was getting trouble because of Sbu's bad publicity. Therefore she was made to break up with him and she even broke up with him. 

Pheto claims that was just a rumor and said she and DJ are in good terms. She even told in an interview that, he is a good person, and she has a lot of respect for him.

Leaving the single life secretly

The 'Tsotsi' actor Pheto aka Mariam has already crossed the age of 38 but she is still unwed. But according to the last year's report of Daily Sun, she is ready to walk down the path of a married woman. After the relationship news with DJ Sbu, there was no other relation news till recently. 

It has currently been reported that Terry and Masande Peter are in a serious relationship and are planning to have a secret marriage. It is said that it is set to be a very low-key wedding and even mobile phones will not be allowed. 

A Car Accident Can Be Fake

The news about the death of the famous African actor was fake. The news was faked by Nomuzi Mabena for the DriveDry campaign. He said that he did it to inspire not to do drink and drive, he even said that he would do it again if it can save even 1 life. 

Although the accident was fake Terry wasn't happy with the campaign and she even twitted on Twitter saying it wasn't funny and she might have been triggered by the action of Nomuzi Mabena. She was triggered because in one of the accidents in the year 2010 she lost 5 of her family member.
